need help with trunk latch - X TUH BOARD - 06-27-2013

When I press the trunk release in my 07 sedan it sounds like a machine gun going off. it open but takes a few attempts to close.. If I disconnect the power the key works fine.

This is my wife car and she didn't like the key only solution i gave her..

Is there a cheap fix or do I have to go to the dealer for a new latch?

Hard to close trunk = common problem - sounds like the latch needs adjusting.

it's not hard to close..I think the latch is tripping out and staying in the open position..I have to press the trunk button 2 or 3 times before it locks..

take the latch out of the assembly, bring it to a local locksmith, they'll take it apart, clean it and lube it up. cost me bout 30 bucks to do but worth it.
