Airbag Question
#1
Well I still have a set of 00-04 Airbags kicking around and I have been keeping my eye open for a smashed Focus to fix up. I came acroos an 05 with what appers to be only the Driver Side Air bag blown. 1st off

1st Question: Is this possible I thought both driver and passenger would blow since I don't think the focus had the pass airbag off option.

2nd Question: Would a 00 Driver Airbag fit the 04+?

i believe the drivers side will fit, only because the steering wheel only underwent minor cosmetic change to the outside of it, size and shape seem to have stayed the same. best bet would be to compare the 2 or see if part numbers are the same etc...

i really hope you buy a duratec focus...

The passenger side seat has a weight sensor in the seat base, it shuts off the passenger airbag if there's only a certain amount of weight sitting in the seat.
So someone small could have been sitting there when it got into the accident.

As for the steering wheel airbag I can't see them changing too much on the inside of them, but I wouldn't know.

^^ correct ... if no one is in the seat, the airbag won't deploy.

The 00-04 airbag and 05 have slightly different part numbers, but only in terms of the model designation ... and the price for a new one is identical ... I'd bet on it fitting.

00-04 drivers airbag
2m5z 54043b13

05
5s4z 54043b13

BTW - I know that having the same number is not the same as being the same ... but with an identical, to the penny price, I'd say the odds are that it is.

Really I didn't know they had the sensors in the Pass seat, I thought it was only for higher end models Go Ford. And Ken Since you looked it up (Thank You) how much does it go for from Ford,
