Seven years after it began, production of the rear-wheel-drive Lincoln LS sedan has reached the end of the line.

Co-developed with the Jaguar S-Type (Ford owns Jaguar), the big Lincoln, currently packing a 3.9-litre V8, received positive reviews. More than 260,000 were built.
What are they replacing it with?

It was such a nice car too.

If it is they're a nice car. I saw one on my street yesterday. From behind they're amazing looking. The front end isn't great, but its not bad either.
I thought that the Zephyr was meant to be the step-down car of the LS...for those wanting the Lincoln Bling, without the wallet sting....

It might be easier to read with Viagra-induced blue-tinged vision.

Not that we know anyone who needs it.

I though Ford was just selling off the LS stock, and the Zephyr was replacing it... so this isn't much of a surprise to me.

Such a sweet car... and then they released the McLaren edition... mmm.

McLaren F1 has nothing to do with Ford what I suspect is that there is an aftermarket company in NA thats also named McLaren.

Laterz :)

Someone needs an automotive history lesson. McLaren isn't limited to F1.

Well thank you for the history lesson. I had no idea that McLaren had anything to do with Ford.

How odd, I was behind one on the road today, and I remembered how much I liked them.

Hey guys I have a little info on this, no the Zephyr did not replace the LS. As a matter of fact next year it won't even be called the Zephyr. Ford is revamping the Lincolin line. They are releasing the Mark X (MKX) built on the edge platform, the Zephyr is going to br renamed Mark Z (MKZ), and the LS is being replaced by the all new Mark S (MKS). I think they will all kick ass.

Ahh, I remember discussing the name change on here in another thread not long ago...
We may be building the MkS in Oakville on the Volvo platform.
I totally forgot about the MKX. It was a nice looking car.

For those that are interested, pics of the MKS:
