Still amazing for 1950's tech
read up on the plain in
wikipedia -- like a lot of the planes of the time, it's totally insane! -- would they ever make an airplane that skids on the ground to land and requires a chase car to tell the guy how far from the ground he is just to land the bloody thing?
or that you needed two guys to install the wheels back on the planes wings by pulling the 'light' wing down with their body weight -- if I were James Mays, I would have been freaking out about landing on my side.
good vid, i'd totally fork out the cash to do that once if i could.
