Somebody wasn't paying attention to their storm radar, or their weather report. You don't get hail at 35000ft.
Betcha the pilot craped his pants.
according to the thread link I posted, the pilot got fired.
Bwahahahhaa!

Imagine the sound in the plane!?
 What a moron...

You mean apart from the passengers screaming? :o
I wonder how many steam cleaners it takes to get that much s*** out of the seats?
That'll buff right out......

Better make it MAACCO!
If the actual hail coming at the pilot didn't make him drop his ass than the flight characteristics changing with the dents in the wings would have probably done it.....and I bet you those passangers aren't thinking it was such an "EASY" flight with Easy Jet.
damn, that would suck flying on that airline. Definitly demand my money back.
Please refer pilot to spanish weather channel!
i often wonder ......do these aircrafts windshield wipers come off the glass at high speeds..do they skip and leave a big unclear area right at eye level????
Are you looking for a serious answer? I can provide one.

Wipers are only good on the ground or at low speed (taking off/landing). In flight you can't get rain to stick to the windscreen. Water runs off like it was RainXed.

That's why small planes like the Cherokee I fly don't have them -- the air from the prop clears the screen.

Besides, if it was bad enough to use them, you'd be IFR anyways.
lolz @ using wipers at 500 mph

It's funny, but in all honesty...I've heard a lot of people say some silly things, not because they're stupid, but usually they are misinformed. That's the only reason I offered the info.

Other stuff:
- Most people associate a plane "stalling" with the engine dying. (no)
- People think big planes nowadays can pretty much land themselves. (no)
- Many people think that most planes drop like a rock if the engine dies. (no)
Do you think the insurance we pay for that. :)
