As title states, looking for a beater, something that is just old and needs some1 to beat the crap outta it for a winter. It must run or require very little to make it run, it must be able to be safetied for cheap and it must be cheap! so any cars that just need to go, get moved W/E! let me know. i have a possibility at a 1992 mustang lx mint body with 136k on it with a slipping tranny for 200$ or so. hopefully that goes thru but otherwise, PM me or post up with anything you know about or have available to you.
what's the most you're willing to spend?

That is probably one of the worst cars for a 'winter beater'. Friend had one in high school, and it was a death machine even with sandbags in the back.

Good call on a Subi as a winter car. I had a 92 Legacy Wagon AWD for a while and it wouldn't stop no matter how much snow was on the ground. Most fun I ever had driving in the snow. :D
not willing to spend much as it will just be for winter. The mustang will be fine as it is auto matic with a slipping tranny and a 4 cyl so i cant get into to much trouble. it also already has winter tires on it. Im looking to spend 500$ or less. im not looking for something that will last me 5 years, rather a winter or two. i am currently saving for my fs werk turbo so spending a lot on a beater isnt an option. i know theres plenty of cars out there for cheap, its just hard to find them.

Thing is though, a Stang is a horrible winter car from that era, even with winter shoes on.

You can be driving perfectly reasonable and sane, hit one small patch of black ice though and the car will swap ends faster than you can blink and with an auto tranny, that much harder to control.

While that might be fun to play with in an open area, on busy streets, not so much

I drove a 5.0 for many years in the winter, and never had issues. :iono: It all comes down to driving with the conditions in mind...

For a 2.3L with an auto, you'll be fine with good brakes and good snows.
