Oshawa, Ontario – General Motors of Canada has announced that the all-new 2007 Saturn Sky roadster will go on sale in the Summer of 2006 with a base price of $31,665.

The Sky is one of three new 2007 Saturn vehicles, along with the upcoming Aura sedan and Outlook crossover vehicle, that represent a new design direction for the brand. The Sky features a wide muscular stance and 18-inch wheels, along with black and chrome interior finishes and available leather seats. The Sky shares its platform and powertrain with the Pontiac Solstice.

The standard powertrain is a 2.4-litre four-cylinder engine producing 177 hp and 166 lb-ft of torque, mated to a five-speed Aisin manual transmission with short-throw shifter, or optional five-speed automatic. Other features include four-wheel disc brakes with ABS, air conditioning, power windows, locks and mirrors, CD stereo with auxiliary input jack, and premium acoustic convertible top with heated glass rear window.

For comparison sake a Solstice starts at $25,695 and Miata base MSRP's are 28-35 depending on model.
Its not really a bad price.

Throw the redline engine in there. and they might actually have an enthusiast car on their hands.
