that's awesome.....

Now how would you move that thing? It;s probably sitting about 10 meters down in goop.

As for the stuff on board....I guess the shelves in payless shoes will be a little bare this spring.
They're just trying to tug boat it out... like the old hammer analogy. If it don't work at first, get a bigger tug boat.

They will probably have to crane of some of the containers, that will probably involve building a temporary road. They may also have to do some dredging as well as it loks like it had a fair bit of momentum at the time. In short a very expensive mess.

EDIT: More pics

No doubt that vessel is in deep.

Yar, we've run aground.
Something tells me they partied a tad TOO hard while at the wheel :D
Yarrrr.. .. where be the shorline, it be dark outside...yarrrr..?

yarrrrr... never mind...
It's going to take weeks to fix that problem. Damn the cost of time lost would be ridiculous!
Is that the illegals getting off the ship?

And notice the taco vendor selling his wares.

At typical rates they are losing about $40,000US per day in lost charter revenue and have been there since Christmas day already. That's $680,000US in lost revenue alone, add in expenses like hiring in salvage tugs at a daily rate and it's ...............wow.
