EXTRA! Maserati scores the triple crown in FIA GT by winning the 2005 Manufacturers, Team, and Driver's championships with the MC12.
Maserati's victory in Dubai, secured for the Vitaphone Racing Team the FIA GT Team Championship. In the first full year of competition for both Vitaphone racing and the supremely reliable Maserati MC12, this result is spectacular. A second place finish by the Vitaphone team's Michael Bartels and Timo Scheider made them the provisional driver's champions for 2005. With this result, Maserati has swept the FIA GT Championship field in 2005.
