hey all. anyone else have a problem that when they depress the clutch pedal, a whine can be heard from under the hood directly in front of the drivers seat? it only happens at the top of the pedal travel (so i guess it would be at the friction point). once clutch pedal is fully depressed (like if i'm at a light or something), whine stops. i removed the air intake resonator, so i'm wondering if maybe its some sort of negative pressure thing, and the sound (or air) is coming out of the hole on the side of the air filter box now. anyone got suggestions? doesn't affect preformance and no other problems that i can hear/see.
midunno. could be for all i know :)
anyone else got suggestions?
btw, thanks for all that post replies and shizzy.
Maybe plug that hole and see if it still happens?

chances are it's not the timing belt, bet on the accessories belt. (the only fan belt on the car).
mucho thanks. i'll give it a try and see what comes of it.
I'm with NOS... Throw-out bearing. Mine whines in my Mustang similar to what you describe.

 no. i don't want to read that. i'll cross my fingers for the belt being the culprit :P
