Hey guys looking for some input.
I see everyone now with iphones, but seeing how i already have a cell phone i was thinking about picking up a ipod touch!
but wanted to know if anyone had one and if it's worth picking one up
can you download any application to it?
i had one its a great interface. out of the box, you can only run apps off the itunes app store, but if you jail brake it, you can run any ap written for it.
I loved my iTouch, until I lost it last week. I had it jail broken for a while but I reverted back to the original softwear after a while. It kept freezing up on me. Great investment!!! Wifi is great on it.
not a big fan of the touch -- great for browsing and playing, but too limited memory-wise for both apps and music. And the battery won't get you far if you wi-fi / play games a lot.

But it's a great little toy -- if you get one, take good care of it, you're going to want to sell it within a year and get a better/updated one. iPods are consumables, and not a great long-term investment.

That being said, I have an iPod Nano.. I don't expect to get more than 2 years out of it before the battery dies or a new one comes out with enough memory to keep me satisfied.
Since both myself and my fiance have Blackberry's but we liked the idea of the apps for the I phone we went out and bought the I touch lowest Gig 8 or whatever it is. We are both super happy with it tons of apps and alot for free or even $0.99 but personally I would probablly be happier with a PSP with a couple of decent games for the long road trips.
an iphone is just that, a phone first and foremost. its not a replacement video game console. but people now a days want all in one, thats why they seld so many of them. the i touch is good too but its primary function is to provide music, the apps are another way for apple to make revenue, since the r&d was paid off already. go figure but theyre smart
iphone still has bugs to work out IMO... like the recent overheating issues... like the original iPod, I'm sure the iPhone will get better with later generations.
there already in the 2nd gen I pod
love my touch but I really only use it for music and it stays in the car most of the time.

thats pretty good to hear. There are people out there who don't need an iphone, they just want one cus its the "in thing" to do.. they don't care how much it will cost to get one, they'll risk letting their credit card bills go unpaid, just to have a flashy new phone that the flashyness will wear off after a year or they will easily get tired of it, trust me, i counted countless people last year who wanted it so bad and after a year they gave it up or it broke or they lost it, and they realized how much it costs to repair or replace, omg, the look on their face was pricesless..

for $700+ id rather buy a nice new laptop. heck, the iphone is worth more than my Mercury Topaz.
not to turn this into a cellphone debate, but I found having a cellphone with a competent point and shoot camera in it to be much more useful than without.

how else you gonna take and post pics like this on whim?
