Hello all

I was glad to attend to the May 25 2009 TO meet (my first) and see others with the same interest for this fun to drive car, no pics of my ride yet but soon to come. For those who attended this meet I'm the guy of the "sleeper" JRSC'ed champagne 01 sedan, I will try to attend to these meets as often as I can, family and work permitting of course :P
Welcome ... sorry we didn't get a chance to meet (or did we ... in my senile state I would have forgotten anyway) ... I think I glimpsed your car just before I left ... and yeah, would never have thought it was FI. Cheers and see you next time.
Yes welcome and glad to see you've come over to this side of the fence.
Yes glad to see you made it in without any problems. Your car, with the exception of the wheels, TOTAL SLEEPER LOOK going on. Hope to see you out at some meets in the future. The wife and kids are always welcome. Ken v(ZTWSquared [light green Fusion]) had his kids, but they were in the car playing DS most of the night.
You're car is the ultimate sleeper, I mean anyone can put on nice wheels (and yours are very nice) but its what's under the hood that counts :D

It was nice to meet you bud. Glad to hear that you do all the work yourself!

As I'm planning to do the SVT header with some exhaust, I'm planning to do some research because your worry about not passing emissions may easily become my worry as well!

If you do get your e-test done at some point - let us all know how that goes!!!

Once again nice to meet you and great ride! (those door symbols weren't meaningless afterall) :D
Favorit car of the night.
well said - agreed

I passed e-test with my SVT header and RT hi-flow cat...no problems. (JRSC too!) ((and from Maple too))

I heard about the meet at focusfanatics regional forums thanks to the Focus Man posting, I was glad to see that posting

Did I read a post from a guy up here in Maple with a JRSC'ed car that passed emissions with high flow cat and SVT header? Wow not sure if I want to try that on my next emissions testing due in December this year, I guess I failed before as I was NA and the stock computer settings couldn't cope with the extra exhaust flow and couldn't make a balanced air-fuel mixture; now that the computer has being flashed to manage the extra flow perhaps I will pass this time but to be on the safe side I will still replace my SVT header with the stock one for emissions and see how it goes, I may leave my whole SVT setting for emissions testing for 2012 if I still have the car

Yeah my car is a sleeper and I intend to keep it like that, I want to keep cops out of my back, that is why I also choose a "conservative" colour when I bought the car, perhaps I may do additional look changes to the car but not too drastic like a Carbon Fiber hood and Recaro seats (If in find them affordable), but who knows in the future
I have another e-test coming this August. I'll tell you how it goes. (SVT header & RT cat)

When I tested 2 years ago I booked an appointment with a garage up the street from where I worked. Half an hour before my appointment a took it for a nice boot to get everything nice and hot. They put the car on the e-test dyno right away and it passed on the first try.

Getting the cat hot makes a difference. I know that when I first start my car on a cold morning that the exhaust odor is not the most enviromently friendly. Even moreso without a cat. (I briefly ran an ORP while getting a crack in my cat fixed and phewy... it smelled and sounded like a 60s muscle car.)
