I have a pair of cheap little 2 ways but I've been considering upgrading to something a little better. I'm not talking CB, or one with integrated GPS or anything, just something a little better than the 2 mile range crap that I have right now :P
I'm considering these:
Cobra 4000-2WX
They have a lot of kickass features, offer a 3 watt transceiver, etc... however they have one service with which I am completely unfamiliar. They claim to give you access to 10 NOAA weather alert stations. Now I know NOAA is in the states, so obviously that wouldn't apply, but does Canada have a similar alert system and if so, does it operate on the same channels? If not, I won't waste the extra money on those units, I'll go down to the ones without the weather channels and digital compass... but if we do have a similar service, then I think it would be worthwhile to have them. :)
