Any good synthetic....doesnt really matter.....Castrol, Mobile1...whatever...
I use the Castrol 100% synthetic oil. I love it. And I've noticed it stopped that annoying little Ford tick that the Focus has. I wont use anything else.
Amsoil 5w-20 :)
Cartol Syntec 5W-20 for when I parked over winter

Switching back to regular Castol GTX since I dont have the blower on then once the blower goes back on Mobil 1 SuperSyn 0W-20
Mobil 1 since 5,000 km... would also recommend Royal Purple's 5w20 blend
I'm wondering what is the difference between 5W-20 and 5W-30?
how does the number represent??

Dont quote me but i think it has to do with the viscosity of the oil...(i.e. thinness/thickness of the oil)....

Any of the guru's out there know if I'm sorta right..?

what does it mean..?
when i had the focus i used mobil 1 synthetic 5w30.. on the integra i use 5w30 full synthetic in the winter and now that the weather is hotter than 40F i use heavy duty straight 30 weight oil

Ditto for me Mobil 1 synthetic 5w30 :D
one thing i do NOT like about mobil 1 is the cost!!!

so i'm trying to be a cheap ass and go with 'dino oil' 30 instead of full synthetic 5w30 in the summer..

i'm thinking.. 'dino' straight weight 30 has 'better' resistance to shearing than 'dino' 5w30 for sure since it doesn't have to flow like 5 weight oil when cold.. but.. would a full synthetic 5w30 have equal/greater shearing resistance than 'dino' straight weight 30 because synthetics just have 'better' shearing resistance than 'dino' oil??

like.. i'm thinking.. full synthetic 5w30 is the 'very expensive all season tire' of oils and the straight 30 is the 'azenis sport' of oils.. much cheaper but equal to or greater than performance than the expensive stuff because its a 'specialist' type product

anyone with some more tech wanna weigh in?

I use whatever the dealer throws in.

I'm too bloody busy lately to change my own oil. :(
Q state 100% synthetic oil 5w30, good and cheap.
Ive used lots
I'll rank them by my favorite
1) Royal Purple 5w20
2) Amsoil 5w20
3) Mobil 1 5w30
4) Quakerstate 5w20 synthetic
5) Castrol Syntec 5w30
6) Motormaster 5w30 Semi synthetic

Next up, i wanna try Lucas 5w20 Race oil. i saw it once at partsource. pretty pricey though at 14.00/l

Also. Has anyone else tried the KnN high flow oil filters. i had to grab one one night when ford was closed and CT was out of Fram filters.
I really like the filter, oil pressure seems always stable but its hard to justify the price (15.00)
How many liters do u normally put in?..
Is a full bottle of 4.4L too much??
Unico Extra Virgin Olive Oil in the summer and Vegetable Oil in the Winter!
I just started using 5w30.

I was also told to stay away from Fram filters after just putting one on my car  not sure why bot hope some one can enlighten me?
Preferebly Quaker State 5w30
or
Castrol Synthetic 5w30

I have yet to try the royal purple or "Purple Piss" as we call it. It is good for an extra 8 horsepower :o (approx) on the dyno compared to regular oil. Now that was in a full race engine, street application i don't know
