From the CityTV News website speaking of the Public Health Agency of Canada:

"The agency estimates between 11,000 and 58,000 people (in Canada) could die from a full blown flu pandemic"

I know they go on to explain it further but is that sort of report REALLY necessary at this stage? Especially considering how stupid the average person is. Sells papers I guess?

Something tells me I don't want to click on that link.....................
it's ridiculous -- with Malaysia and Newzealand issuing travel alerts to Canada.

My mom even called a couple times this weekend telling me to be careful...

- I work remotely most of the time
- I can order all my food online if I need to
- I have several hundred video games and movies.

go ahead, bring on the end of the world -- would be nice to wander around nekkid and not have the cops called on me.
SWINE FLU?
RUN FOR YOUR LIVES!!!!!!!!!!!!

C'mon.

S.A.R.S. was bad enough.

For the love all all things holy lets hope it doesn't come to that. I don't think they call cops for those sort of catastrophes anyway?

Quote:The complainant told police he saw a woman online performing “inappropriate sexual behaviour” first with her dog, then with her young child, over an internet webcam feed the previous evening.

Quote:The OPP and CAS expressed their “sincere thanks” to the concerned citizen that reported the incident.

I have a couple concerns about the above quotes from the same newspaper story. Did the cops investigate the complaintant with regard to him maybe having child porn as well? I don't get it. Why did it take him over night to think about what he actually saw and call the police?
I've got weeks of foodz in the fridge, freezer, deep freezer and cupboards. And, I too can work from home easily.

EVE while adminning servers remotely? I'm up for that.

"Hey, tone down the 40-man fleet battle, fellas! I have a sick server to reboot!"
I think that the media is bored with discussing the economy so they are doing there typical over reaction to the swine flu. Not to say that the swine flu is isn’t a big deal but at this stage everyone in Canada and the USA are recovering and only one person was hospitalized from complications.

I guess this flu can affect a lot of people and hopefully it doesn’t spread as quickly as they say it can.
My work VitalAire/AirLiqude is checking and ordering in more stock everyday for masks and other Respritory products to protect us and you.
I was just watching CNN and it showed 4 infected states in red (40 cases, mostly in NY) and then it showed Canada completely in RED...WTF.

This is why I hate the media, they want to scare everyone into staying inside. I wonder how many people think all of Canada is infected after watching CNN?
at this point from work (i work for a travel wholesaler) and there is a travel advisory for mexico now in effect for canadians...there's a confirmed 149 deaths in mexico city

i was just there last weekend - there were no issues...

by the way - i didnt bring it back with me!

If they had their way, Canada would just be one giant resources bucket "state" for the good old U S of A. The fact that their childish graphic artists pulled that stunt is neither new nor alarming to me - you see it all the time. We're just used to their juvenile antics by now so most of it slides under the radar.
all this reminds me of Fallout 3. one of the news papers you see durring the loading between areas is a paper that headlines " US TO ANNEX CANADA! " lol

the funny thing is I have a sinus infection, and sme of my co workers said I should be at home getting better, or asking me if it's that Mexican Flu..lol

28 days later................28 weeks later.......
this is a different strain and seems to be killing some healthy young adults though....thats what worries me.

I dont think we really need to panic though...

1/2 a million people are killed by influenza each year, I think the media is blowing this up for thier own ratings for sure.
