Car sounds like it's "dieseling". Don't know how to better describe it. Any idea what it could be?

well then i don't know.
i would need to hear the noise to be able to try and diagnois it.
Time for a cam-belt change possibly?
Low Oil?
When does it happen?
Is the car cold or warm?
Does it happen at idle or throughout the RPM range?
Is it a tapping sound, a knocking sound or something else?
My suggestions check for codes and check your plugs. Other than that I can't say much without more info?
Dieseling is technical run on after you turn the engine off on a gas car.
