For all those considering a rear strut brace, you might want to consider one of these instead. At $60 you cant go wrong.... I took a look under my car today, and the holes for install are already there.

Looks interesting.... exactly what does this do? what is it holding together? how much ground clearance does it leave? where can we get it? sick of all the questions yet?

:D
these guys have some good stuff for the dubs too
What it is supposed to do is stiffen up the rear suspension a bit.... Just like a rear strut brace, however the rear strut brace goes across the top of your hatch area, so it kinda interferes with storage space..... Most who have purchased claim it definitely gets rid of creeking and clunking noises from the rear end, but the difference in handling characteristics are way to small to detect by and average driver (altough it is doing good, I wouldnt even notice). Still it is considerably cheaper than the rear strut brace, therefore a good alternative.

As for clearance, it looks like its only 1/2" thick chunk of metal so I wouldnt be too worried. It can be purchased at http://www.dieselgeek.com
