Quote:The OPP have confirmed that former NHL enforcer Bob Probert has died after being rushed to hospital with vital signs absent after collapsing in a boat on Lake St. Clair on Monday.

Windsor radio station AM 800 CKLW first reported that emergency crews performed CPR on the former Red Wings and Blackhawks' forward and then transported him to Windsor Regional Hospital where efforts to revive him were unsuccessful.

The Probert family has called a news conference at 6pm local time at Windsor Regional Hospital to issue a statement.

One of the most feared fighters in the history of the NHL, the Windsor native scored 163 goals and added 221 assists and whoppinig 3,300 penalty minutes in 935 career NHL games.

Holy cow. Only 45 years old too.
cocaine and alcohol abuse will f**k you up good.
Bob Probert lived life fast and hard while he played in the NHL to be sure. Did he mess up occasionally? Hell yes he did Dodgy

However, to pass at such a relatively young age is still a sad thing Sad

NefCanuck
cocaine is a hell of a drug..
He may have lived hard and partied harder, but he was still a good family man, and one of the few enforcers who could play hockey too... All Star Team in 1987-88. And not a horrible actor either, for anybody that caught him on Rent-A-Goalie...

RIP Probie.
