Yes, but I thought it was more with the Zetec engine rather than the Duratec (which is what your car has.)

There's four possible problems here ... 1) the throttle cable is physically sticking - you can manually "blip" the throttle from under the hood to possibly see if there is any problem with the cable

2) Your gas pedal is sticking - check to make sure your floor mat isn't fouling the pedal,

3) the throttle body is sticking - you might be able to feel this when applying throttle as an initial hardness in the pedal you need to push through to get the revs up

4) and there is also a "throttle hang" problem wherein the computer essentially adds throttle due to some input it is receiving - although again I thought this was more of a Zetec problem - I don't remember that from any Duratec I've had.
is there any recalls for this? i called Ford and they told me whatever it might be won't be under warranty because my canr has 65k..$98 for them to looks at it

Google it ... tons of stuff on the interweb - too much to link to here.
Common indeed.

I removed the throttle body, lubricated the throttle wire and cleaned the body with cleaner. after that, it was good as gold.
Is your throttle sticking closed or open? Mine was sticking closed, it ended up being some sticky carbon on the throttle plate in the throttle body. Take off your intake tube and clean your throttle plate. Then you will be good as new

bumper to bumper is 50 k and powertrain is 100k or 5 years. throttle body should be part of engine therefore a powetrain.
