This reminds me of one of my favorite all-time Car & Driver reviews... http://www.caranddriver.com/reviews/car/...-road_test

I say buy it, but are you really going to want to park it at the Go-train lot all day, after what happened to the Focus?
I've learnt where to park at the Go station. Not to mention I wouldn't be installing any fancy stereo stuff.
i agree with scorcher... you want a powerful pickup thats half decent on fuel and has tons of power... ECO BOOST.

Sure, but an ecoboost would cost me more than i would be putting down on this thing...

LOL!
SRT10 over ecoboost, only because of price. if everything was PAR for price, then i would say ecoboost and wait for a chip, intake and dp's to come out and you would likely school the SRT

100% for the viper truck

THIS!!! You only live once...If you can turn around and sell it (or trade in) for what you are getting it for or more then why not?

Like this? Tongue
How much to you drive? I use to have a 440 in my old Chrysler. The vehicle was in excellent condition when I bought it. Never needed any mechanical work. Work wasn't that far away, so really the gas factor for that wasn't really that important. Okay so I dump my girlfriend because she lived on the other side of town, but sometimes you have to sacrifice for the greater good? You said you use a tank of gas a month? I completely fill-up at least once a week. I'd say go for it.
dirve about 3 km a day.
oh that'll only use like 4-6 litres of gas then

/sarcasm

do it up dude!
I've also had a soft spot for these trucks for quite some time. To me, they were always the epitome of "sport trucks" done right.

Then again, my Dad had a '70 Dodge 1/4 ton with a 440 from a Roadrunner bored and stroked to 492cid. Fast Dodges are the only Dodges I can stand to this day.

Do it up, bud.
Pro's: Nice truck! More power then you will ever need. Eventually may become a collectors item. Bad ass stereo from the factory. I assume Price because its family. being able to spank 90% of vehicles on the road with a truck.

Con's: V10 + premium fuel = $$$. Tires as wide as your focus = $$$ to replace eventually. Brakes bigger then your focus wheels = $$$ to replace eventually. If anything ever breaks = $$$. the fact it cant really tow and doesnt have 4x4. Insurance will be $$$.

But i have to agree with you even with all these Cons it is still 1 badass truck. Just the most unpractical truck also.

= 2cents
There's a black srt-10 just outside of my hotel room. 4-door. I've never seen one b4... awesome. Just took off...shook the room....and can hear it all the way down the road. Go for it.
By the way those Jeep SRT-8's are bad ass as well. I was in one at the track and we ran 12.5 sec. in 1/4 LOL. God I love them.

Saw one for $22k
Agreed. A much more reasonable dd too. Those suv's have so much grunt, I think it would slap a srt-10.

Its a v fawkin 10. lol Tongue

Jeep SRT8 = what I'd cheat on the SRT10 with.

Mopar... *drool*
A missed opportunity? I let it pass.

I just don't have the "balls" to take on a potential expense like that. My driveway is super small at best, not long enough to hold that and my wife's Sante Fe.
I had tires and brakes quoted for fun, and I almost s**t my dickies. I could turbo the focus for the cost of some Viper brakes.
As much as that truck suits me (I'm a big guy) and as much fun as it would be to drive circles around you guys (in a straight line Tongue), I know my desire for long drives in the country... I'd be driving that thing everywhere = $$$$

The truck as it stands is still for sale (I think) and remains in a barn well protected. Some single guy with a fat wallet and a small wanker will pick this machine up.

I'm sure these all sound like lame excuses, but when your saving for a bigger house, Dropping 25k on a truck that will cost you a mortgage payment a month just to drive, just doesn't make a whole lot of sense to the wife and I.

I'll have to hold off a little while longer for the WRX. LOL.
Completely understandable Anthony,

I still have a solid line to a Shelby GT-H locally at "below market" value, but it's still a crapload of cash for a car that I will only drive on weekends at best & I have to modify it so that I can drive it safely...

NefCanuck
Should I mention the gas prices as of today? lol What a robbery.
