Some of you on here may remember a Focus specialist in Cali by the name of F2USA ... they had some good stuff but was known for slow or even non-existent customer service. They also did a lot of business with the Mazda community.

The owner was / is Ricardo Vega.

I only purchased once from them (something for the Fusion - Feb 2009) and let me start by saying that I finally got what I ordered and it was fine.

But during the course of waiting for the part, I began to hear rumblings on Focaljet and FF about he might be going out of business - and I had trouble getting a hold of him - which, again to be fair, seemed to be the case during his entire business life - so nothing unusual there.

Anyway ... while waiting for my part I did some research (I'm good at that LOL) and I was able to track Mr. Vega down to his house in Whittier CA - and even saw from the street view the old red F-350 and a nice looking Euro Focus in front.

I've tried finding threads out there to see if anyone actually got burned by F2USA -and it appears not to be the case ... but in any event:

There's a new vendor on Focaljet by the name of GP-Werks and while cruising their website it seemed like an address was missing ... and in fact the website specifically said no local pickups available - not bad business per se but it does get you thinking.

So I found a phone number on the website (gp-werks.com) and sure enough, it's listed to an "A Vega" at the exact same address in Whittier where I found Ricardo a couple of years ago.

A coincidence maybe - but a damned strange one if A Vega isn't related or in fact the same as Ricardo Vega of F2USA fame.

So if you're looking for Ricardo for anything - I think I know how you can connect with him.

Just sayin'.

Did you share this on FJ and FF? Would be interesting to see what people respond with.

Nope - haven't been on FJ for couple months now - and in any event, I've got like 2 posts on both sites - serious lurker / troll - not sure what my credibility would be like.

If I were you, I'd post "Hey I'm ZTW^2 from FocusCanada" then just quote your original post and link back.

LOL - oh they know who I am - at least in the News and Debate section (where posts don't count for your post count) - I used to be quite active in the political discussions and let's just say that I was a polarizing presence there. I finally gave up trying to present my point of view when my "motives" became the issue and not my actual arguments.

So ... I don't even lurk there anymore ... and I have no intention of going back.

As far as FF is concerned I think I have two posts on there and no one would have a clue who I am ... and no, my handle there is not ZTWsquared and I kinda like it like that.

im interested to see if they can get a f2 front bumper, and maybe pay COD lol in case it doesnt show up! i emailed them to see what they have not to long ago actually. waiting on a firm YES or NO on the 05-07 stuff as i love the RS front.

There's a couple of threads in FF about the F2 RS replica stuff and gp-werks plans to make them - went on for like six months - arguments about urethane vs. fiberglass and the cost of molds etc etc ... there were a lot of posts complaining about the fit of the F2 product and the changes gp-werks should make to the mold.

One of the last posts I read from gp-werks was along the lines of "well if you think Extreme Dimensions can do it better, then let them." Didn't sound too positive.

Bottom line is they still have nothing on their website for exterior - all categories listed are "no product listings here."

FWIW - the F2 RS replica stuff is listed on another website http://www.f2motorsports.com - which on the face of it doesn't seem related to F2USA, but there's no pricing and no way to order. My email about pricing remains unanswered.

SOT - Extreme Dimensions is one of the brands in our upcoming group buy ... I'm thinking of getting the DTM duraflex front bumper and side skirts ... personally I think they would like excellent on your car:
