Anyone done this, I'm having the 05 duratec w/ mtx long crank/start plus hanging revs blues and read that this mod could be a simple and free solution.

I'd hate to hack apart my throttle body so I might look for one at the wreckers to try it out on.

Any info would be immensely appreciated.Big Grin

Forgot the FF thread links for anyone wondering what I'm on about.

I thought I read somewhere that a reflash of the ECU to an updated file solves these problems - might even be a TSB on it?

Another thing but I don't know if this is related or not ... I know the plugs on the D are rated for 100,000 km but in reality their performance for the last 50k is really suspect and too often we forget how much the plug wires deteriorate too.

Before you get into modifying a throttle body maybe go for a reflash and a tune up.
Yeah Ken there's a TSB for it #05-9-16.
I've had the issue since I bought the car new in 05 so it's not the plugs.

I just figured instead of paying $90 to Ford to flash something they should have done for free, I'd just fix it myself with some very inexpensive mods.
I had gone to Ford before my warranty ran out with the issue and talked to a service guy about it and he told me there wasn't any TSB or recall then and looking now on the release date of the bulletin he either didn't have a clue what I was talking about or didn't want to do any warranty work.
