I am interested in getting a Diagnostic Code Reader for my 03 ZX5. I'm sure there are a few on the forum who have one. What are some options? I think the best would be software on my computer where I can plug into my ecu. Just not sure where to purchase it. Any recommendations?
i have an OBD II scanner. it pulls the codes and then you check online what it means.

Can you clear codes with it?
Pick up the sct xcal tuner it also reads and clears codes , plus it makes your car run better
Yes, it clears codes. But if you dont solve the problem it will just come back.

Went to crappy tire and looked at the code readers, most of the code reader don't support ABS codes. Or if they do it's really expensive. Right now I need to figure out which ABS sensor is not working, my ABS and Traction lights are on my dash. Cleaned them but my ABS and Traction are both not working. Is there computer software I can download and just buy a usb cable input? Or for any one on here that works at a Ford Dealer, does it cost anything to get my car scanned?
Hang on , do you have an Android phone by chance?

If so buy the app torgue pro , and go onto ebay and buy a bluetooth Elm/obd2 module.

its what i use , i get codes and what they are , and i can clear codes , as well as track sensor information in real time.
Or come see me at my shop, ill pull the codes and fix the problem Tongue lol

Based on your suggestion I looked into this and it looks great and your suggestion about track use is excellent - I could see how this would be great for things like IATs which I don't have a gauge for. The only issue with that is usually they don't let you run with anything hanging off the dash so I would need to find a more permanent installation for my android device.

Just one question: can you read ABS codes too with this setup?
i haven`t had a ABS code come up , but based on the amount of sensors i would say yes. There is a wiki on this app and all its glory. It has been a good app for me.

Thanks - sorry to be a pain, but one more question: which bluetooth sender unit did you get - on ebay I see about a dozen different shapes and sizes, most of them all labelled ELM - are they all the same with just different packaging, or are there more substantial differences. Thanks again.

thats the one i got.

Most of the ones under 50 bucks are reproduced by some other company but work the same way. depends on what you want to spend , i paid 15 bucks for mine plus shipping , and i seems to work just fine for me .
