Lets see, I would like to know what you thnik are Blue Ray movies that are must-own of all time. Movies that never go away.

Here are some of mine:

The Godfather colletion
Die Hard Trilogy
The Matrix Trilogy
The Hangover
Batman Begins
GoodFellas
Training Day
Shawshenk Redemption
Shrek

What are some of yours?
Ironman
I, Robot
DeathRace
Nice list Paolo.

A few must haves of mine are the diehards, the matrices, Heat, gone in 60 seconds. But if I see one I like on the cheap I might grab it anyway.
Coraline
District 9
Iron Man
Wall-e
Watchmen

Skip Batman: Dark Knight -- the transfer to BD is horrible and likely to be bested by a director's cut in the future anyways.

Layer Cake -- great movie, but cinematographic errors are obvious in high def (focus!)
is there like a focuscanada.net but for movies that maybe you can become a member of too? that would also be cool if that existed and they could talk about movies and stuff.

I would stay away from GoodFellas 20th anniversary blue ray. it costs more than the original blu-ray, but its not even re-mastered and it costs more. just a lot of extra hot air to ruin a great movie. Guess I'll wait until they come out with a 25th anniversary of goodfellas.

Now.. I hear Scarface is going to be made into a blue-ray, but because its Universal Studios, one of the companies that backed HD DVD, they are taking their sweet time to release it, just great.

I was thinking about getting dark night, but after what you said puppet, I am probably gonna hold back. I have a way of previewing blue-rays before i buy them, its especially good for older classic movies to see if its worth having them in the new format.

Torino is a 'must own' movie -- but you could get by with the DVD version. But definitely a great effin' movie.
Reservoir dogs
Boondock saints
Superbad
Heat
The departed
Blood Diamond
Wall-E
UP
Ratatouille
Good Fellas
Casino
God Father
Donnie Brasco
Jackie Brown
Back to the future
Die Hard 1
And many more...
I'm gonna chime in here with a movie whose video transfer to BluRay was "meh" but whose audio was fantastic if you're a fan of the music composer Neil Hefti.

Batman (The 1966 movie)

If you have the equipment, the DTS Master audio track is audio ear candy.
