TTT - updated info

Waiting for responses to PMs ... dibs are about to expire.
Hi Ken. pm's not working right now for some reason ...

Do you have any suggestions on how I could use the FF50 lights to replace the factory fogs. I'm very interested in these, but don't want this to become an all consuming project with new wire harnesses etc

Otherwise I'll purchase the 4 x FL400s filters @ $10

Yeah, PM systems been down for a while ... the FF50s will replace the fogs in a 00-04 without too much trouble (different shape of course so you'd have to use the brackets that come with the Hellas) but on 05+ you'd have to remove the black plastic housing surrounding the fogs - not a lot of work, but that leave's a pretty big space. In any event they should not be considered direct replacements.

If you need better photo's of the brackets it's easy for me to do ... send me an email.

#11, what difference would i see when using from 5w-30 to 5w-50??

I'm no oil expert, but AFAIK the "5W" rating assures you of the low temperature rating (below 0 degrees Fahrenheit) which is important for protecting the engine at low temps, ie: at start up.

In terms of the high temp rating the "30" rated oil would have quite a bit less viscosity at 100 degrees Centigrade than does the "50" ... based on my understanding the 50 would offer somewhat greater protection at the cost of performance and economy.

Technically the difference between SAE 30 and 50 is expressed as follows:

30 - between 9.3 and 12.5 cSt @ 100C

50 - between 16.3 and 21.9 cSt @ 100C

Hope this helps.
i ll let you know when i get paid
Thanks for the Swaybar Ken!

You're very welcome - it was good to meet you and thanks for the free bump ... new prices and other updates (including FREE STUFF!!), please look at the first post for details.

And oh yeah, the push to fit two cars in my very cluttered garage is off (drunkinmonkey's got nothing on me) - LOL too close to spring to worry about it now.
I will take a 4 pack of Zetec oil filters if you still have them. Let me know if you still have any.

Thanks.

I'll take whatever you have left, but since I just changed my filter last week I can wait until the warmer weather meets to pick up the filters. (unless you're passing by Maple or Thornhill)
Will the 07 suspension bits fit a '00?
chromehorse,Feb 16 2009, 07:12 PM Wrote:Will the 07 suspension bits fit a '00?

Yes - the fronts will fit any Focus built (00-04 you have to keep the struts and springs together) and because they are wagon spec, they would be considered heavy duty for hatch or sedan.

The rears will fit wagon only.
Someone with a facelift Focus should buy that grill. Its a total steal! Cut it up, mod it, rice it out just for fun. Who knows what it will turn out like. It maybe cool just to see what you come up with.
