if I can swing it, I'd like to take the stang to the school... it's a great opportunity to learn a car's limits in a safe environment.

Good plan and what I had planned to do with the Focus at the SVTOA event this year :( (Last year having been washed out due to other issues)

Then again, depending on what I buy this time it shouldn't be an issue (and it'll be even newer and easier to pass the tech inspection :P

NefCanuck
about time for some track events
I can't stress how much fun / good these events are... the AutoX may not be the Big boy races, but it's affordable, and if you go to the Corvette club run ones, there's some good speed going on, and occasionally there's a crash...
awesome, if i'm in toronto during an event i'll come out with a rental vehicle :)

i've done a few autoX and HPDE events, and i highly recommend that you guys check out a HPDE event in addition to autoX.

the cost per minute of driving time is much better for a HPDE (7min of driving for $25 at autoX, appx 125 min of driving for $159 at HPDE) and in both cases you have to use up 1 weekend day

EDIT: you know why they make corvette events have such long straight sections right? so no one in a 'balla' stock Z06 gets a worse raw time than an 'economy' stock civic with R compound tires

it's worse than that.. one of the instructors drove a prius/insight with R-Comps... embarrassed the s*** out of a lot of guys.
