well this is what i sent to Bosch. I guess it should tell you how i feel about the stupid plugs. They were used on Ford Escape 2004 V6

"Extremely disappointed!!!

I can not believe your plugs are causing so much grief for me. I purchased 3 sets of Bosch Platinum +4’s and now I have to go back to original Ford plugs.

When I changed the plugs to Bosch, I was constantly getting check engine light (CEL) flashing. After speaking with my mechanic he narrowed the fault to the plugs and nothing else. So now I have to pay over $600.00 to change the catalytic converters and a new set of plugs all because of your useless plugs. I know you are offering a refund for dissatisfaction, but sometimes that doesn’t seem enough. Especially on a vehicle that requires the removal of intake manifold before replacing plugs.

Unfortunately, I’m a very dissatisfied customer. I’ll make sure to post this letter on all the clubs and forums that I belong to as well. I don’t what others to go thru what I went.

Changing the cats? What was it? Backfire?
take a look into a recall on bosch plugs. I know they pulled all the plugs off the shelf at the Canadian Tire i work at. request to have your money refunded if you still have proofs of purchase and cost of repairs

yup and i would never recomend +4's to anybody
Ford plugs all the way. Even for boosted engine
I've had good experiences with the NGK Laser Platinums. Im on my second set and havent had any problems.

at $17 a plug though, i wait til the go on sale and then use my discount at CT
+4 are garbage just my $0.02

and laser are over priced but they worked well for me
should i just go with one step colder Motocraft ones?
i have proof of purchase. I actually replaced them recently and was too lazy to get rid of the garbage (old plugs+bag) so i guess it got lucky in that regards.
Wow Mo, that's insane. Bad burn from the plugs burnt out your cats - BOTH of them?
ha, so i went to return the POS plugs to CT today and guess what???

There is an actual recall on these plugs now. It actually came in yesterday.

if your boosted or just stay with the regular ones.
It won't hurt though but won't make a difference the SVT use 1 step colder than the stock zetec but for boost i only use copper plugs

They recommend 1 step colder plugs for every 50HP you make over stock when boosted.

If you're not boosted, using one step colder plugs will hurt your power, hurt your mileage, and require replacement after 30,000km instead of 100,000. The stock plugs should be more than sufficient.
Nothing worked as well as the ford plugs for me
