Which brand oil filter does everyone use? I went to cdn tire to buy my oil filter and found out MOTOMASTER no longer makes oil filter for our focus anymore (mine is 04). They told me it was discontinued and no longer make it for my car.
So I was stuck with only one choice: FRAM. So i bought the FRAM oil filter.

Are there any other oil filters out there good for our cars other than FRAM? I'm not sure FRAM is that good.
I've found Motorcraft to be the best, or at least better than Fram.
motorcraft what ford uses
I use K+N I think they work pretty well. You can order them in at parts source but they usually dont have em in stock.
purchase the OE oil filter. this isn't the part to try to save a buck or two IMHO
Yeah Fram, not so good. The pressure relief valve is just a piece of sheet metal. Buy one from NAPA, they sell WIX Filters.
OEM all the way
K&N for now

next im gonna using NAPA
I've been happy with the NAPA Nascar Select filter. Motorcraft filters are good.

I try to stay away from the Orange Can of Doom...

i had a the lip where the canister and plate meet together blow and gave my car a free oil spray, luckily i noticed before it drained alot out.

OE filter since then
WIX
wix and puralator pureOne filters are solid aftermarket filters for sure.. but again i do think this is one place were designed and manufacturer to OE specs are what you want..
oh i must have gotten mixed up with motomaster and motorcraft. I thought motomaster was the OE part and when i heard it was discontinued i thought "what the?".....so its MOTORCRAFT i want not motomaster right?

Ok, i'll return my FRAM to cdn tire and look for MOTORCRAFT (OEM). Any one know where to get one other than FORD dealership?

i dont think you can get them anywhere else but the dealership.
Yeah... I just get mine from the dealer during each change. Done deal... no pun intended. :)
Walmart US sells Motorcraft. Otherwise, it's Ford Dealer only.

Orange Can of Doom = Fram...

It's a term I got from Bob is the Oil Guy forums... I researched filters and oil on there for my old Escort for awhile.

Issues with Fram's exploding, bypass valve not working causing pressure spikes, etc...

I just bought my oil filter from a ford dealership and it was $10
That's pretty cheap. The FRAM was $8 at cdn tire but i'd rather pay the extra
$2 for good quality trustworthy oil filter.

I'm returning the FRAM.
