Porsche Canada today announced the price of their vehicles has been reduced by 8-10% due to the strength of the Canadian Dollar, ( and their complaining customers). A Porsche 911 which was $170,000 will now be $158,000. Maybe I'll sell the house and get that porsche I've always wanted......... B)
hey, you can sleep in your car but you can't drive your house
About time........let hope the big name companies follow their stride.
I wonder how this would affect their used car prices....probably not much. <_<

if you are ok with an older 911 the prices are low enough now that pretty much anyone who wants one can get one

for example.. $34k for a type 996 c4

EDIT: i saw a 2002 c4s with 40,000miles going for 30k the other day, and there are a few more that are similarly pried.. so i'm pretty sure you can get into a 996 for low $30s

If I had $30,000.00 for a car I'd get a used ZX3, ZTS and a ZTW

under this pic it says 'racing is life' so that confused me i expected the answer to be a $5000 zx3 and $25000 in modifications
I don't need a big car. I've done the van and station wagon thing. Had a Ford Escort, best little car I had around, more fun in it and the police don't look too hard at you. Yes, the Focus is probably the only car I'll be driving unless my wife's health dictates the need for a vehicle that'll fit an electric wheelchair. The Focus is pretty comfortable, fairly smooth, but also fun. Besides, does it really matter on the road whether you can get to 60 in 5 or 10 aeconds

Watercooled 996s and newer are nice, but they're just that... watercooled.

It ruins the sound and pains ussssssss.

Get a 993 or a nice, classic 964. They might not be as quick but you can't beat the aural symphony. :D
917
I'd kill for a nice 928... I like my engine in front! :)

yea 964s are still nice. i can verify that a 964 c4s is faster in a straight line than a stock 02 wrx (sigh)
You know though, Even though Porsche lowered their sticker prices by 8-10% you are still paying almost 20% more then you would in the US. It's stupid, and it's even more stupid that all the other Car companys will not be doing any lowering of prices in Canada for a few years.

buy used from the US and import it in then..

the cdn market is just different dude.. thats why you have cars like the civic 1.7EL and pontiac G5 etc

and besides.. considering how cheap housing is you still come out way ahead than people living in the US

Not really. Depending on the market, housing costs are less than here.

Add to that our tax base, and the fact that you can write off your mortgage interest against your taxes, the average American has more disposible income than the average Canadian.
