Transport Canada issues latest recalls
Aug 3, 2007

Ottawa, Ontario - Transport Canada has issued its latest recalls, which may affect some Mazda, Ford, Maserati and Audi vehicles, and Combi infant car seats.

2007 Mazda Mazdaspeed3
Vehicles affected: 870

On certain vehicles, the No. 4 engine mount bolt (left side) may loosen as a result of repeated sudden or rapid acceleration. The bolt may pull out or break, allowing the transmission to be out of position. In extreme cases, the driveshaft may become detached. Dealers will replace the bolt. In addition, the engine mount rubber and bracket will be inspected and, if necessary, replaced.

2007 Ford F150
Vehicles affected: 4

On certain vehicles, the fuel tank may contain localized depressions in the tank wall at the seam between the top and bottom halves of the tank. If the depression is large enough, fuel may permeate the fuel tank wall, resulting in a fuel odour, malfunction indicator lamp illumination, or a fuel leak. Dealers will replace the tank.

2007 Maserati Quattroporte
Vehicles affected: 24

On certain vehicles, incorrect software programmed into the antilock brake/anti-skid system (ABS/ASR) electronic control unit may prevent the system from functioning properly. A loss of function may result in loss of enhanced stability and braking control during certain high-speed manoeuvres and high-speed braking. Dealers will replace the ABS/ASR electronic control unit.

2006 Audi A6 Avant
Vehicles affected: 92

The automatic rear lid includes an electric motor and clutch that work in conjunction with two gas struts to open and close the rear lid, including the manual close function. If one of the struts has a total less of pressure, the resultant slow movement of the rear lid is interpreted by the software as an intended manual close; the motor clutch releases to close the rear lid immediately. This can result in unintended rapid closing of the rear lid. Dealers will install updated software.

2006 Combi Centre DX Mango
2006 Combi Cosmo ST Travel System
Units affected: 203

When using certain infant car seats with the UAS belt (also referred to as the lower anchor strap) and with the adjustable recline foot extended, the foot may move from its original adjustment position during an impact, introducing slack into the UAS belt. This could cause the infant restraint to function differently in a secondary collision event, and could increase the risk of injury to the child, or to other occupants of the vehicle. The company will send a UAS belt kit to registered owners.

They did. But it's an official "recall". If they didn't "announce" it I'm sure that someone would accuse Ford of hiding it.
