The bottom two bolts of the exhaust manifold heat shield, that piece of aluminum that is bolted to the exhaust manifold, have rusted out. The top two bolts are still fine. My question is, can I just remove the shield without having any serious heat issues inside the engine bay?
I took mine off and it gets F*ckin hot in the engine bay....I am not sure if it got that hot before or not, so I cant really say. I would say " give it a go "
taking it off wouldn't benefit you anything good.....but it will make it hotter, keep it if you can
