Police request assistance with Fail-to-Remain traffic fatality, Kipling Avenue/Finch Avenue West

The Toronto Police Service is requesting the public's assistance with a fail-to-remain traffic fatality investigation.

On Tuesday, December 8, 2009, at 5:44 a.m., police responded to the report of a pedestrian-struck collision, at the intersection of Kipling Avenue/Finch Avenue West.

It is alleged that:

- a 62-year-old-woman was operating a blue Hyundai vehicle, southbound on Kipling Avenue, making a left turn to go eastbound on Finch Avenue West,

- the woman’s vehicle struck a 73-year-old man, knocking him to the ground,

- the accused fled the scene and continued east on Finch Avenue West, failing to remain,

- a second vehicle, a light-coloured Toyota-type vehicle, was travelling northbound on Kipling Avenue, made a right turn onto Finch Avenue West, and drove over the victim,

- the driver of this vehicle is described as a man, 50 to 60, with a beard,

- he also fled the scene, failing to remain.

The victim was pronounced dead at the scene.

Georgina Cappelletti, 62, of Toronto, has been charged with;

1) Fail to stop after accident involving bodily harm.

The investigation is ongoing.
