CAA and Armada Data to launch new car price service
03-05-2007
Source: Canadian Driver

Mississauga, Ontario - Armada Data Corporation has announced it has entered into an agreement with the Canadian Automobile Association (CAA) that paves the way for an innovative New Car Price Service that will assist CAA members when buying or leasing new vehicles.

The service will include a Web site with a vehicle configuration tool, plus tips and advice on selecting vehicles prior to purchase. The site will include exclusive access to a network of "CAA Approved" new-car dealers who have committed to offer CAA members preferred pricing and an enhanced level of customer service.

The service will be launched and available to most CAA members in Ontario in mid summer 2007, and is scheduled to be expanded to other provinces throughout the following months.
 Hrm, haven't heard hide nor hair of this and I've been a CAA member for nigh on ten years now...

Wonder how many Ford dealers are willing to slice their profit margins like this?

would be nice if Ford is part of it, with it's new and used cars...

Nothing new here really. Armada data = http://www.carcostcanada.com - they've been around quite a while. The deal with CAA is more of a cross-promotional and branding exercise.

There's no way Ford or any other mfg will be sharing confidential pricing information with them, but then again there's lots of ways to get that info.
