Transport Canada issues latest recalls
16-3-2006

Ottawa, Ontario - Transport Canada has released its latest recalls, which may affect some Mazda, Dodge, Saab and Jeep vehicles.

2007 Mazdaspeed3
Vehicles affected: 250

On certain vehicles, the Mazda all-weather floor mats sold as over-the-counter accessories could interfere with the accelerator pedal, preventing the vehicle from properly decelerating when the accelerator is released. Owners will be notified of the defect and instructed to return the floor mats to the dealer. When modified all-weather mats are available, they will be shipped directly to the vehicle owners.

2004-2006 Dodge Durango
Vehicles affected: 13,900

On certain vehicles, the instrument cluster circuit that controls interior lighting may overheat and could cause an instrument panel fire. Dealers will inspect and, if necessary, replace the instrument cluster assembly. If the cluster shows no evidence of damage, it will be reprogrammed to prevent this condition. In addition, all vehicles will receive a modification that directs interior lighting to a portion of the integrated circuit with additional current-carrying capacity.

2000-2003 Saab 9-3 Convertible
2002 Saab 9-3 Sedan
2002 Saab 9-3 Wagon
2001-2005 Saab 9-5 Sedan
2001-2005 Saab 9-5 Wagon
Vehicles affected: 4,150

On certain vehicles, the fuel pump retaining tabs holding the fuel lines were damaged during production. Over time, this could cause the fuel lines to loosen from the pump, causing fuel leakage. Dealers will install a bracket that will secure the lines to the fuel pump even if the plastic retaining tabs should break.

2006-2007 Jeep Liberty
Vehicles affected: 13,500

On certain vehicles, the heating, ventilation and air conditioning (HVAC) blower motor may overheat and cause an interior fire. Dealers will replace the blower motor with an updated version.

2007 Dodge Ram Pickup
Vehicles affected: 190

On certain Ram 2500 4x4 vehicles equipped with a diesel engine, the Certification label, Tire Loading information label and the Supplemental Tire Pressure label indicate an incorrect front tire inflation pressure rating of 50 psi (345 kPa) instead of 60 psi (414 kPa). Updated labels and installation instructions will be mailed to owners.

2007-2008 Dodge Avenger
Vehicles affected: 1,200

On certain vehicles, the front door latch cable may become partially unseated from the interior release handle housing, causing the latch to become stuck in the open position. Dealers will install a secondary feature to both front doors to prevent the door latch cable ferrule from becoming unseated.
