for the most part yeah but don't worry I contributed a good amount of money into this buy just cause I'm a good son.
My father just didn't have time to go and check out this car
That car has the Cylinder deactivation on it...switches to 4 cyl on the highway, or below 1/2 throttle application. It will yeild the same fuel economy as the 3.5L SXT's, but have the HUGE gain in torque you get with the 5.7.

The AWD system is actually a Mercedes-Benz 4Matic, and is quite high-tech, and is rated very highly in the bad weather.

I was going to buy one of these cars before I bought my Escape, but the wife felt it was too much like driving/riding in an oversized Mustang (Low roof, high beltline, long hood, etc).

In terms of your other comment about the Ford Family having a high horsepower wagon, they actually have 2 of them. The Flex Ecoboost, and the Lincoln MKT Ecoboost. Duratec 35 with twin watercooled turbos, direct injection, with 350 hp, and 355 ft lbs and a 6-spd auto with paddle shifters. It's actually the same driveline as the Taurus SHO (mind you, with 10hp less), but compared to standard FWD Flexes, they have larger rims, higher spring rates, larger brakes, and better shocks/struts.

Nice score, and I'm quite jealous actually. I'd be even more Jealous if it was a Steel Blue or Black model...

I'm actually not too crazy about the color myself.
Flex reminds me more of as SUV + it's more money at this point.

The EcoBoost in the Flex maks it a fast people mover too.

A Flex EcoBoost was run @ the last SVTOA trrack event @ Mosport.... dear god that thing flew up the back straight and was passing Mustangs like they were going in reverse (mind you the brakes on the thing were left smoking hauling down to sane speeds though  )

The Ecoboost MkT flies, too. Don't ask how I know. B)

Should be entertaining. On snows I wasn't able to break the Fusion loose on the white stuff (The power got dialed back by the car itself before there was any serious loss of grip issue)

Turn off your stability control / traction control. That is all.

Does that turn off the AWD as well though? (I wanna say yes it does, but that would make no sense either  )

Nope, not in the least. You'd have to pull at least one big-ass relay/fuse for that to occur. It CAN be done, but it's not recommended and any straight-line performance is hindered by the driveline weight/drag that still exists anyways.

I love chucking snow like a 3500lb snowthrower with the truck. :)

Does your RSC have two settings for "off"? Touch the button and it's a little more forgiving but still kicks in during extreme (EXTREME!) moments, and "hold for off" - truly off?

If you hold down the stab. control button for a few seconds, it'll light the skid icon, then flash it repeatedly till you take your finger off the button. Then it'll stay steadily-lit and the system will be off.
Nope, with the system in the Fusion, it's either ON or OFF, no "less nanny state" mode...

Maybe next year at Mosport I'll try a session with the system off aand see how it goes (Turns 5a & 5b will be one hell of a challenge that way, at least according to the guy who was trailing me and saw the Fusion try to step out on me there)
