Transport Canada issues latest recalls
November 27, 2006

Ottawa, Ontario - Transport Canada has issued its latest recalls, which may affect some Chrysler, Volvo and Jeep vehicles.

2005-2006 Chrysler Pacifica
Vehicles affected: 4,900

On certain vehicles, the fuel pump module and/or the powertrain control module (PCM) software may allow the engine to stall if driven under certain operating conditions. Dealers will reprogram the PCM.

Volvo C70 Convertible, 1999-2002; Volvo C70 Coupe, 2001-2002; Volvo S60, 1999-2000; Volvo S70, 1999-2001; Volvo S80, 1999-2002; Volvo V70, 1999-2000; Volvo V70XC, 2001; Volvo XC70
Vehicles affected: 12,884

On certain vehicles, a combination of throttle position sensor irregularities, a dirty throttle housing, and/or inefficient software calibration may cause a warning lamp to illuminate, and the subsequent onset of "limp home" mode. Dealers will install a software upgrade in both the electronic throttle module and the engine control module.

2007 Jeep Compass
Vehicles affected: 1,650

On certain vehicles, the owner's manual does not contain information concerning a higher risk of rollover and special features for occasional off-road operation. Canadian regulations in this area differ from those of the U.S., and thus Canadian vehicles are not out of compliance. However, as the visor label refers to the owner's manual for further information, DaimlerChrysler will mail an addendum card for insertion into the owner's manual. A bilingual visor label will also be included for use as required.
