Transport Canada issues latest recalls
November 13, 2006

Ottawa, Ontario - Transport Canada has released its latest recalls, which may affect some Nissan, Mitsubishi, Jaguar and GM vehicles.

2003 Nissan Murano; Vehicles affected: 47

Certain vehicles may have received an incorrect replacement Body Control Module (BCM). If, during service, the BCM was replaced with the incorrect module, the daytime running lights could become inoperative. Since this action deals with replacement parts, it is deemed a Service Campaign, and is not being conducted under the Safety Act. Dealers will replace affected BCMs.

2007 Mitsubishi Eclipse, & Eclipse Spyder; Vehicles affected: 72

On certain vehicles, the ignition key interlock cable may have been improperly manufactured. This could allow the automatic transmission gear selector lever to be moved out of the Park position with the key removed from the ignition switch. If the park brake is not applied and the gearshift lever is moved out of Park, the vehicle may roll. Dealers will inspect and, if required, replace the interlock cable.

2005 Jaguar S-Type; Vehicles affected: 389

On certain vehicles, the Fuel Delivery Module (FDM), Jet Pump Module (JPM) and/or Cluster Valve (CV) seals are not properly retained in the fuel tank. This may result in illumination of the Malfunction Indicator Lamp, or a fuel odour. If the amount of fuel is above the FDM, JPM or CV apertures, fuel may be discharged onto the ground. Dealers will replace the fuel tank.

2007 Buick Allure, Chevrolet Impala, & Pontiac Grand Prix; Vehicles affected: 145

On certain vehicles, the fuel tank is missing an adhesive layer that bonds the barrier layer to the outer shell of the tank. If so, fuel and/or fuel vapours could seep out between the layers. Dealers will inspect and, if required, replace the fuel tank.
