Transport Canada issues latest recalls
October 15, 2009

Ottawa, Ontario – Transport Canada has issued its latest recalls, which may affect some Toyota and Audi vehicles, and some Pirelli tires.

2007-2009 Pirelli PZero Corsa P285/35Z19
Units affected: 150

Certain tires may experience partial tread separation and/or belt edge separation, which could result in a loss of vehicle control. Dealers will replace the affected tires.

2010 Toyota Sequoia
Vehicles affected: 92

On certain vehicles, the airbag warning labels affixed to the sun visors are in English only, which fail to comply with the requirements of CMVSS 208. Dealers will inspect the labels and, if necessary, install visors with bilingual warning labels.

2006-2010 Audi A3 Quattro
2008-2010 Audi TT Quattro
2008-2010 Audi TT Quattro Roadster
Vehicles affected: 2,660

On certain vehicles, the closing force of an internal spring in the fuel tank ventilation valve is not adequate to hold the valve closed under extreme conditions. During certain driving manoeuvres, liquid fuel may enter the fuel tank venting system and migrate into the evaporative system, saturating the carbon canister. This may cause performance issues such as the vehicle jerking, and the malfunction indicator lamp could illuminate. In certain instances, fuel could also leak from the evaporation system leak detection pump filter which, in the presence of an ignition source, could result in a vehicle fire. Dealers will replace the valve with an improved version.
