Transport Canada issues latest recalls
October 25, 2006

Ottawa, Ontario - Transport Canada has issued its latest recalls, which may affect some Volvo, General Motors and DaimlerChrysler vehicles.

2005-2006 Volvo S60, 2006 Volvo S80 & Volvo V70;
Vehicles affected: 1,871

Certain vehicles have a tire and loading information label that contains incorrect tire inflation pressure. If the vehicle is equipped with SST tires and the inflation pressure is set to 35 psi (the incorrect pressure listed on the label) the tire pressure monitoring system may set a warning message "Low Tire Press. Check Tires". Owners will be provided with labels and installation instructions.

2004-2005 Chevrolet Aveo & Pontiac Wave;
Vehicles affected: 36,678

On certain vehicles, the engine throttle may stick in the open position, due to throttle body icing in temperatures near or below -20 degrees Celsius. If the throttle sticks open while the vehicle is moving, a crash could result. Dealers will repair the PCV system update kit previously installed in recall 05-235 (GM 05521).

2007 Chrysler Aspen & 2007 Dodge Durango;
Vehicles affected: 330

On certain vehicles, the right front steering knuckle may have been improperly manufactured and could break. This may cause a loss of steering control and result in a crash. Dealers will inspect and, if necessary, replace the right front steering knuckle.
