Worth picking up?

Or is it too small?

Its very cheap cause its got a blown waistgate that needs to be replaced.
what are the specs on the turbo, if its dirt cheap with no shaft movement then i say pick it up. as for the internal wastgate, just weld it shut and run a 38mm external
on a 2L you will max out a K03 around 220fwhp give or take 15-20fwhp.

would spool like a motherf***er but will run out of steam at the top of the powerband.
would be a really good turbo if you were going to limit yourself to 200fwhp and a stock redline on a stock motor. you'd get great responce for AutoX...

as for the wastegate issue, you could fix it but i agree that welding it shut and running an external 38mm tial or similar would allow for better function.
if you replace the internal, later you could always upgrade to a K04 that a lot of the 1.8T VW/Audi guys are running...
Ive already gotten rid of the Stock Tune, (SCT Chip)

So if i rev past a VWs range will i cook this turbo fast?
200 WHP Is great for me, But i want a safe motor too.
If your going the junker route, Id say pick up a td05, you can find some nice ones in real good shape.

I think the k03 is rated at 350cfm, the td05 is 400. 9psi tuned, you'll make 200whp, and more in torq.

Or get something like this, new to. And cheap!
