so next year im looking to put a newer focus zetec engine (with lower milege), so i can actually start building that engine up. Power works is not out of the quastion, i have a good credit so far so i can just walk into the bank and take that loan.
i hear focus engines go from $400 up to somethin like $700 in good condition

Anyways, long story short. What are some big junk yards around toronto area where i can look for Focus engines??

down here in Kitchener i checked 4 places so far and found only one SPI engine in really s***ty condition.

Well, there's Standard Auto Wreckers out near Steeles & Markham that has pick & pull days ($45 all you can carry) that a friend's father swears by 1-800-668-5014

Well that V8 wagon from BC featured in Focus Fanatics mag last year was pretty sweet. He wouldn't have to lower the front if he slapped a 4.6L in there.
alright thanks guys.....i'll have to do my search on those sites
Here is Standards fresh road kill section

and here is Corcone

you can check these up weekely to see what is there. I find these to be very helpfull. Most of the time when i call for parts some idiot answers the phone and he doesnt really know anything about cars. So this way i can just ask for that exact part number from the site and the idiot can just look it up and get it for me instead of arquing with me.

Good luck.
Let me know if you cant find anything. I just called my guy and they have 2 Zetecs available. 80K & 100K. 6 month warranty on both. Youd have to figure out how to get it form Ottawa to T.O though...

I also have my old blown engine, would be good for a rebuild project.
well I know Mega City auto Wreakers just out side of Milton has 4 Foci in there and one has no engine, the roofless wagon they have has a 2.0 SPi and they have 2 2.0L Zetec's, the one in the silver sedan is in better condition and hardly picked at, and then the black sedan was a frontal impact and the engine looks very damaged. they do have a few 97~02 Ford Escorts in there with the same 2.0L Zetecs in there too, so for sure they have a few engines, just be extra friendly and the price will drop.
the lower the milege in the engine the better for me.....ofrouce i will have to take one of my mechanic friends to take a closer look at the engine first before i will buy it....cuz its not always best engine with lower km but im just assuming...

by the way...how much would it cost to put the engine in if doing it at some shop?

what should i be looking at?

Ford quoted me 8-12 hours labour at $75.00/hour......expect a grand after all said and done.

A hoist was less, and I knew Id be doing the swap more than once. I bought the hoist and did it myself instead.

OR, come to ottawa and I'll do it for half that price.
