Saw this on the news this morning before I left for work (yeah, I have to work today).
I really expected him to have an accident with a crocodile or a snake.. not a stingray.
At least he died doing what he loved to do.

wow.. done in by a stingray...statistically, the odds of getting killed by a stingray are pretty slim.... If you know and are aware of stingrays in your vicinity, there's no reason to get a barb in the heart.. sounds like his enthusiasm outweighed his respect for the animal.
it was bound to happen... it's obviously not as gruesome a death as most people would have expected tho.
