I'm not a Caddy guy, but I'm all about the 4-door Z06. What a car. I didn't get a ride in it, but he (a friend of a cousin) has promised to take me out next time we're down. He was actually impressed with the Focus! Also, I finally got some shots of my cousin's Cobalt SS. And a couple of nature shots for those that can appreciate nature itself :D

Enjoy the pics - click each for a somewhat-better size :)

Shot these in JPEG - Normal mode to test out the theory about Fine not being much better. For family shots, they're right - the quality is decent. For stuff I was actually trying to pimp, I'd go Fine and then obviously Raw if they mattered that much.

That's what it is bud. It has the Z06's LS6 V8 and 6-speed manual transmission, a massively-damped suspension, LSD, etc. It's insane. You should have heard the thing leave that night!!!

It's Caddy's/GM's V division - their answer to the AMG and M divisionsfor MB and BMW, respectively. He was telling me how he embarassed some kid in a last-gen Camaro with the LS1 and then trounced 2 SRT-8 300s with it. Apparently the older of the two 300 owners was seriously not pleased. Everyone that rolls up thinks it's a V6-powered CTS :D

The strut tower brace actually says LS6 on it. I kept asking Sara if she'd drag me to shade if I passed out in the driveway while photographing it.
I thought the Z06 had 505hp...

same for the cts-v??

The Z06 corvette for 2006 has a sticker price of $101,900

The 2006 Z06 is 525... the 2005 Z06 is 405 and that's the model year it's based off of. So he said anyways!

Its 505 man....trust me...

and from what i can tell the cts-v for 06 is 400hp...

i seem to remember the 05 z06 was only 5 hp differnce from the regular vette
its based off of the C5 Corvette, and it don't think its the Z06 version that its based on either.

you must enjoy surprising people with your focus.
Maybe its just the way the sun is hitting the cobalt, but does anyone else notice that the front bumper is a different color than the rest of the car?

So if it was a family bbq did you get a ride in the caddy?

Same thing happens to my car...

front bumper looks different shade than the rest of the car...

must be the orange paint!
CTS-V is pimp for sure, but I'm pretty shocked it'll take down an SRT-8. Must be a serious weight difference. Too bad it costs an extra $20k MSRP over teh Chrysler.Either way the CTS-V does use the same engine (designated LS6) from the last generation (C5) Corvette Z06. Breaks down like this....

(C5) 04 Corvette base model 350hp (5.7L)
(C5) 04 Corvette Z06 model 405hp (5.7L) ----> CTS-V engine, but looses 5 hp
(C6) 05 Corvette base model 400hp (6.0L)
(C6) 05 Corvette Z06 model 505hp (7.0L)

Quote:When the CTS first hit the showrooms, it was only available with a rather anemic V6 - Cadillac stressed that its design was too compact to slip the Northstar V8 engine under the hood. However, the CTS engineering team looked to Chevrolet's Corvette line where they determined that with a few minor modifications the potent LS-6 V8 would fill the engine bay. Generating 400-horsepower and a tire shredding 395-lb.-ft. of torque this new 5.7-litre aluminum-block heart gives the CTS-V driver an adrenaline rush like few other street sedans.
