If youâre thinking of trading or selling your Focus in the next little while ⦠my advice is to do it now before Ford of Canada announces 2007 model pricing.
Iâve heard the rumours for a while but it seems pretty clear now that Ford of Canadaâs pricing strategy will be changing significantly for '07.
Their strategy is to greatly reduce the need for incentives by pricing the MSRP much closer to the actual transaction price ⦠for example:
The current MSRP for a 2006 Focus ST is $22,995 and there is up to $3,000 in incentives. The exact same car for 2007 will launch with an MSRP of $19,999 â thatâs right ⦠an MSRP reduction of almost $3000!
And although the transaction price of that car will remain about the same as now ⦠the used car market likely wonât take todayâs incentives into consideration, and the value of a used Focus could take a real sh!t kicking.
haha, you mean its gona be even lower resale value?
so does that mean I actually have to pay someone just so they take it away from me?

Sweet. Can't wait to see the new pricing. Although a focus is not what I'm gonna buy next, maybe a nice mustang tho.
Doesn't effect me.
You'll never see me on another Ford lot.

What he said, unless I move to a country where they have cool Fords.
I would probably buy another ford, this things done me no wrong in the time i've owned it. The only thing thats gone wrong appears to be things i've f$%%% with myself, and or general maintenance.
Ford of Canada has never had to "incentivize" Mustang ... for 2007 Mustang V6 prices remain unchanged and GT prices (coupe and convertible) go down by $500.
Hooray,
My dreams of buying a $ 1000 2000 ZX3 to blow up are coming closer.
Back in 04, the trade in value for my car is $4000, so there is no point to trade in a focus anyway. And this only mean that I can get a wagon for real cheap.
someone sell me their focus for $1000
only condition is it has to be a 5spd. Me and my buddy are looking to build a junkyard turbo project car.
well it's good news for me as I'll have paid off my Focus by then, and I'll be in the market for another car by then, maybe a new lease or buy on a new focus wagon if I like the American 2007 facelift2 ....
But as for my current Focus I plan on keeping it for as long as I can, I know with the mileage on it now I'll maybe get $4000 as I'll be hitting 170,000kms by the end of this month.... lol
That does bump everything lower, which is nice because it makes a nearly never-driven 2005 ST or 2005 SES available at a much nicer pricepoint.
I'd gladly own another Focus... I just want 4-wheel disc brakes! :D

Oh yeah ... forgot to mention ... 2007 is the last model year for Focus wagon and they'll probably can it early on -- probably before December (as in this coming December).
The wagon was at one time 50% of all Focus volume in Canada and is even today up around 35% -- but the decision to cancel it was made in the U.S. based on American sales trends.
Hrm, maybe I can get my mom into a Focus yet (No way am I letting her commit suicide in a Aveo/Wave)

Wow Ford CEO's are real fuctards.... and the Focus Wagon is one of the only few good options for afordable wagons in that market segment.

I know I'm courting hersey with this comment but, why not an ST with a slushbox? Those of us that have to drive autos deserve the option of a bigger motor too y'know ;)
