For any one driving there Focus over winter just curious if you are going to try that Winter Oil by Quaker State that has been commercialing for the past month LOL.
I think its just a sales gimmick.

Probably not but I'm not implying that it is a gimmick. The pudits seem to be in agreement that some of Quakers other "formulas/blends", specifically that one for high milage vehicles, does in fact help.
Maybe next year.

Since I got my Focus parked I debating if I should change the oil one last time while it sits or just change it once I bring it back out. I heard its a bad idea to have old oil as it sits and brakes down then I heard thats it doesnt matter.

Using high milage formula on a new car serves no purpose just like using winter formula in summer serves no purpose.

The reason it is suggested is that will all the heating up and cooling down of your oil, moisture gets in. It's a by product of the process, unfortunately. If an engine is going to sit for extended periods it is always best to change the oil. I plan on changing it in my car and in my bike this weekend, before I pull the batteries . . . I will then, in spring, change the oil again . . . I know, it may be overkill but I want my vehicles to last . . .

The oil should be changed.
If you plan on driving the car all winter it is not necessary to change it, unless you have passed 3 months or 5k kilometers, but we all know that.
