RE: Almost Losing It... - GFXjamie - 12-04-2010 its covered by insurance as of today, confirmed thru bbm group RE: Almost Losing It... - Scorcher000 - 12-04-2010 Yes Jamie is correct. To a point StateFarm is covering this due ot the fact that we never once ever discoussed if the car was modified. So they are willing to whip the slate clean and fix it up. The Colony Ford Service Technician (Nelson) is being a hold-up right now. He seems like a nice guy but I have a funny feeling he is a smile in your face but f**k you in the ass kinda guy... So monday I will find out for sure only if StateFarm gets the qoute Faxed over from Ford. Also... StateFarm wants a complete list of all the modifications that are on the Focus and my Father's Ranger as well. Now if and when they do see the list of mods which I spent 30min today at work printing pics and prices out lol. We think they may not want to insure it. But seeing how the way StateFarm works is that they out source you, they still may take me on. Just incase, I priced out some insurance from Belair Direct and Desjardines. They both will take all my mods and they are fairly cheap as well. So looks like my luck is coming back around. So I bought a 649 ticket. If I win, anyone that can make it I'm taking ya on vacation to that Atlantis Resort I keep seeing on the TV Commercials lol. Anyway, I will let you know on Monday... Have a great weekend. Now its just a question of follow up and follow through to know what the end result will be. NefCanuck RE: Almost Losing It... - jackqa - 12-09-2010 Hello guys. I'm new here and I just bought a used 2002 ZX5 last week. regarding insurance though, try getting a quote from TD insurance from their website. I got them over statefarm coz statefarm was charging me an arm and a leg. RE: Almost Losing It... - Scorcher000 - 12-09-2010 (12-09-2010, 06:10 AM)jackqa Wrote: Hello guys. If I did choose a company to pay for nothing I would choose Desjardines. They were the cheapest by miles in front of everyone I ever priced out! So Day ? (Its been awhile) Still waiting to here back from SF to say what they are going to cover because Ford is taking they're time with the quote. Last night we had received a call from our agent regarding the situation. We were told that we would receive a call today but if not to call Thursday. Personally I'm tired and very unimpressed with both companies about this matter. I'm mean this is a serious situation about cars catching on fire and burning to the ground. People can die and get hurt easily. And both parties are looking at this like its from the aftermarket equipment or "Wear. Tear". Is in my own experience here I would honestly say forget this dealership and possible even Ford for pretty much brushing this situation off the shoulders of the innocent consumers that are stuck with the thousands of dollars involved in repairing the vehicles. This is what you call taking it up the ass. I'm just glad that my agent is proving herself to us by going threw all the extra paper work and having it put threw as a claim. Well, that's it for now. Sounds like you have reason to be cautiously optimistic ... but I'm still unclear about what actually happened - what caught on fire and why ... and when you say "burn to the ground" you just meant that rhetorically, right? RE: Almost Losing It... - Focus man. Focus. - 12-09-2010 I am going by tonight with a book of matches. LOL RE: Almost Losing It... - Scorcher000 - 12-10-2010 So SF won't cover what cause the fire. (The front harness and all labour included) so I'm on the hook for $1800... But they are rplacing eberything else that is needed on the car, to start with the rear harness and labour + taxes. Also when that's all connected and something else is a miss then they will cover that as well. So its half and half. Better than me paying for all. Plus I get to keep the original harness from the front, think of mailing that to fords main building in the states lol well gotta call today and see when they can have it done seeing how its been just under a month its sat there! Plus its getting o-zoned for free too as a clean up to get that electrical burning smell outta it too. Also I'm gonna see how much they are gonna take off for braking my fuckin slide key too. About the burning Ken, I have found tons of people that have had the same issue I have and in some cases where the wiring ignites the car does set on fire and burns to the ground before fire crews can get to them. Also some cases the dealerships actually replace the tranny too because of the cluster lights are showing O/D off not knowing the wiring is cooked there too. I'll post up the links around noon today. http://www.aboutautomobile.com/Complaint/2005/Ford/Focus/Electrical+System Read number 17, 23 http://www.aboutautomobile.com/Complaint/2000/Ford/Focus/Electrical+System Read number16 http://www.aboutautomobile.com/Complaint/2000/Ford/Focus/Electrical+Wiring Read number 1,2,3,4,5,read all of them... RE: Almost Losing It... - ANTHONYD - 12-10-2010 Didn't an old member's car burn to the ground the same way? I can't remember his name. it was back in focaljet team canada days. RE: Almost Losing It... - hardk0re - 12-10-2010 Jays2000ZX3, but his was the battery harness. That "battery harness" you talk of is what they are blaming it on. (engine Harness is what Ford calls it) RE: Almost Losing It... - ZTWsquared - 12-10-2010 (12-10-2010, 04:43 AM)Scorcher000 Wrote:(12-10-2010, 04:23 AM)hardk0re Wrote: Jays2000ZX3, but his was the battery harness. Contact Transport Canada and report the issue (do it in writing and send a copy to Ford Canada customer service) ... and you should consider a CAMVAP claim for the 1800. If you'd like any assistance with the communications part of it John, I'd be happy to help. I almost wonder, should I have done that when my focus broke down? RE: Almost Losing It... - Scorcher000 - 12-10-2010 Thanks Ken, I definitly will look into doing it. Cause this is not fair for anyone to buy an unexpecting lemon. |
