My First Genetic Disorder! - OAC_Sparky - 11-30-2006 Ahhhhhh...now it makes sense. Those must have been RUST stains on your underwear!! My First Genetic Disorder! - NefCanuck - 11-30-2006 OAC_Sparky,Nov 29 2006, 10:29 PM Wrote:Ahhhhhh...now it makes sense. Ugh... and I'm having enough trouble sleeping at night thanks  NefCanuck My First Genetic Disorder! - NefCanuck - 11-30-2006 darkpuppet,Nov 29 2006, 01:39 PM Wrote:Well, I got the call from the doc's office to come in for a chat. Of course I'm thinking, "uh oh.. there goes my fatty diet! :( ".. but turns out that's not entirely the case. my HDL is extremely high, and my LDL is only borderline.. Was this caught as part of a regularly scheduled yearly checkup DP? Interestiong method of treatment, give blood, I wish I could get rid of even half my laundry list of health problems that easily :P Speaking as someone who used to avoid doctors like the plague until after my auto accident in '99. I can say that regularly yearly checkups on your own body are just as important than any maintenance we do on the machines in our lives. Remember folks, you're stuck with your body, you can't trade it in on a newer model ;) NefCanuck My First Genetic Disorder! - darkpuppet - 12-01-2006 NefCanuck,Nov 29 2006, 11:49 PM Wrote:... you can't trade it in on a newer model ;) well, not yet, anyway... :P but yeah, I went in to start up regular checkups because I had a bit of a chest pain/shortness of breath last month (that turned out to be musculature), so figured it wouldn't hurt to get a workup done. I just happened to luck out with my doctor.. she seems very knowledgeable and thorough... which none of my previous male family doctors were... My First Genetic Disorder! - OAC_Sparky - 12-01-2006 Does she have small fingers? That's the most important question. My First Genetic Disorder! - darkpuppet - 12-01-2006 yes, she has small fingers she's barely over 5 ft if that.....and yes, she is quite attractive... Mines good, but I think that's also because I don't got to him with every sniffle either, hell, I went a strech of three years straight where I saw him for only physicals and flu shots (Which reminds me, he wants me in to get my jab in two weeks -shudder-) NefCanuck My First Genetic Disorder! - focusracer - 12-01-2006 So I'm not a doctor or anything but with the amount of water you said you consume, up to 4l on a ride that others are sonsuming only 1l, have you ever had your blood sugar levels checked. That is one aspect that hat has been flagged (among many others) as a symptom of diabetes. My dad always thought he just drank lots of water thinking thaty's great, it's healthy, (not to mention up to six cans of diet pepsi a day as well, real healthy I know) but he went undiagnosed as type 2 diabetic for probably 6-8 yrs and now the condition he's in because of that is unbelievable. I'm the only one in my family who's not been diagnosed as diabetic, yet, but I am at risk with slightly elevated blood sugars, and I seem to have an unquenchable thirst. My First Genetic Disorder! - darkpuppet - 12-01-2006 yup.. I got checked out for everything... diabetes, kidney function, etc etc etc.. I came back clear on the diabetes front. I attribute the fact that I'm a 270lb guy partaking in 180lb sports to my excessive sweating condition and consumption of water during sports. My First Genetic Disorder! - Gravter - 12-01-2006 I recently also went for a complete check up at my new family doctor. My gf and sons have been seeing her (the Dr.,,, yes female) for over 4 years and I had none, so it made only sense for me to be under her care. Anyhoo, it was quite interesting... lol... Checked my blood pressure, asked me all kinds of questions related to my family background, bla bla bla and then, she says, remove your clothing, except shorts and lay down..uhhh, ok. So, there she goes checking my liver and whatnot... scratching my skin to hear where my liver starts and stop to mesure it. Then, she's talking bla bla bla... I'm looking up... laying on my back... I hear the sound of rubber gloves going on.... gulp... then my boxers get pulled slightly down and there she goes... with my magic wand in one hand and my favorite nuts in the other... She mentioned she was examening for testicule cancer.. uhh, ok ;) This Dr. is my age and is not hard to look at ;) I told my gf I cheated on her, without my conscent, lol. She laughed about it. She knows the Dr. fairly well as she sees her at work. I was not expecting this kind of checkup, but was glad to have went :) Cheers. My First Genetic Disorder! - darkpuppet - 12-01-2006 ^-- my previous (female) doctor took all the fun out of it with the 'eggs and macaroni' speech... My First Genetic Disorder! - focusracer - 12-01-2006 Eggs and macaroni speech? Please, elaborate. My First Genetic Disorder! - NikiterZTS - 12-01-2006 i can just only wish my Doc. was hot.....she's def over 55 :( so no party in my pants My First Genetic Disorder! - ZTWsugardaddy - 12-01-2006 I had my "over 40" physical done a few years ago. For all you young guys, believe me, you don't want your colon examined!! :o (this will be your facial expression) However, I am amazed with medical technology today. I just had eye surgery two weeks ago (cataract). Surgeon removed my natural lens and replaced it with a man-made lens in twenty minutes!! My First Genetic Disorder! - focusracer - 12-01-2006 My old boss had a colonoscopy done inspecting for cancer because it ran in his family. I thought they were looking for his head but apparantley that up someone elses ass. They give you a mondo freakin super laxative to REALLY clean you out, as much of a dickhead as he was he was a pretty good practical joker. He had some of the super duper lax leftover, we poured it into the other guys coffee mug with his afternoon coffee. The poor bastard couldn't stop for 2 days. But yeah, my boss said he felt like he'd been raped by an elephant. Don't know how he'd know how that felt, nor do I really want to know. My First Genetic Disorder! - darkpuppet - 12-02-2006 Got call from second batch of blood tests... looks like I'm getting referred to a specialist. My latest blah blah blah test came back an 860. So yeah, that's not good i guess  Still have to hear back about the other 3 vials I 'donated' for the genetics test that'll tell me with certainty if I have what I have. Until then, they're gonna work on draining the excess metal. and since alcohol increases iron absorption... damnit!
