Beginners Tuner - Flofocus - 12-15-2006 everbody boosts a hatch. Be different man!! :P Beginners Tuner - NikiterZTS - 12-15-2006 Flofocus,Dec 14 2006, 04:56 PM Wrote:everbody boosts a hatch. don't u think my KM a lil too high? Beginners Tuner - Burnin21 - 12-15-2006 Nah Nick you'll be fine, just get a compression test. If you fail the compression test (compression isnt where it should be0 then rebuild the block in preparation for that Powerworks Supercharger. Trust me 186k on a car isn't alot if its been maintainted real well. I beat on my car whenever I drive it but I maintain it like no tomorrow. Oil changes done exactly on time (full synthetic too), fuel filter every second oil change, everything inspected/torn down/ replaced if need. I pulled the head off my car just to see whats inside and theres no markings/scratches in the walls of the block, pistons are fine (didnt see the rods) and the head along with the valves/springs and cams was fine as well. As far as I'm concerned, if i go boost anytime soon my motor will be ready to take on about 8-10 psi. If I wanted to go higher in boost i'd re-build it then. Just my input here Nick, but you should be fine. ~ Matt Beginners Tuner - NikiterZTS - 12-15-2006 where exectly can i get a compression test? (im a really big noob in boost department so i need as much info as u guys can give it to me) Beginners Tuner - kamilk69 - 12-15-2006 there is a gauge that you can buy at princess auto, it threads into your spark plug, then disable ignition, thread gauge into spark plug hole, crank engine over until you get 3 compression strokes, im pretty sure thats how you do it, i did it in auto class in grade 11, but im not 100%. |
