Meanwhile In Local News - 2001 ZTS - 03-29-2006 Got a letter from Bay Ford Lincoln (Yorkville), the dealer has closed as they sold the land to Four Seasons hotel. I don't think there is a Ford dealer in Toronto proper at all anymore? I am invited to go to one of their other dealers, two in deepest darkest Scarbourough and another some place north of Steeles. I guess my last chance for dealer service is Donway but that is east of me and even further east still from my work. Bay Ford used to be good service wise and just a couple subway stops from the office. That dealer they're referring you to "north of Steeles" is "Yonge-Steeles Ford-Lincon" who used to be Northtown Ford-Lincon. Northtown Ford-Lincon went "out of business" last year, but according to what I heard at the dealer where I bought my Focus last year, the service manager said that Northtown was deliberately closed down in order to aviod paying severence to lng term employees there (Northtown Ford-Lincon had been around since 1956) Personally I would never do business with a company that willingly screws its employees to avoid obligations to them. Think Ford has abandoneed urbanites? I see proof enough for me. CANT UNDRSTAND WHY SOMEBODY WITH A 35X135 FOOT LOT, 1-1/2 KIDS AND A BRAIN DOESN'T WANT AN EXPLODER????????or equally explosive inbred vehicle from Mecury or Lincoln???? According to their logic "where'smy check book?" I've been through two closings of dealers myself and from a "go forwrd basis" there does not exist any dealer support in Toronto so why buy a Ford? At least I can drop a ____________ near a subway and get to and from work. Funny enough the BMW dealer looks good as I anti commute the DVP. Meanwhile In Local News - darkpuppet - 03-29-2006 no kidding, Ford is the only dealership that doesn't have a dealership inside a 20 minute drive. well, maybe Yorkdale Ford.. if the traffic is light. my next car will have to be a Saab, Mercedes, Toyota, Acura, Honda, Chrysler, BMW, Porsche, or supercar. I wish I could say I got the same level of service from them...but since they hold my lease papers now, I guess I have no choice but to deal with them. p.s. check your sig pic, it's >60 pixels high and will be removed. Meanwhile In Local News - NOS2Go4Me - 03-29-2006 Never heard that about the Yonge / Steeles Ford dealer. I'll have to ask my Dad about it when I call down tonight. That really sucks, because the couple of times I did go into Bay Ford they were really cool. Meanwhile In Local News - scoobasteve - 03-30-2006 Yonge/steeles dealership was Northtown ford before... i think they went out of business twice before re-opening as yonge/steeles ford. Man, that dealership had nothing going for them. My buddy bought his focus wagon off them. and the licenseplate surround that they gave him had SPELLING MISTAKES! Not quite sure exactly where yonge and stells is.... Shanahan ford, (sheppard/warden area) closed, re-opened as freeway ford... then closed and moved away. I had pretty crappy service there too. Beware of donway though. They apparently only have one-way shuttle service... If you drop off your car there, they'll take you to work. but it'll take quite a bit of arguing for them to pick you up. Did i mention that was day 3 of SVT ownership. Haha, My last time going there. I wonder what happened with "shiny blue escort" now that bay isnt there. Meanwhile In Local News - 2001 ZTS - 03-30-2006 scoobasteve,Mar 29 2006, 10:15 AM Wrote:I wonder what happened with "shiny blue escort" now that bay isnt there. I talked to him about a month ago at the dealer. He sold his car and bought a Mustang. He moved out of the shop and into sales a couple years ago. I'm sure he will end up with the same job at one of the other dealers now. Meanwhile In Local News - paolo - 03-31-2006 NefCanuck,Mar 28 2006, 09:38 PM Wrote:But a word of caution. Back when We lived off of Finch, the closest dealership to us was infact Northtown Ford, thats where the parents bought their '90 Tempo from back in the day. Strangely, after the dealer tried to screw us over for service work, we never went back there ever again. We got a lot better service at Evans Ford which is down the street from the Kipling Subway stn. Also, I found Yorkdale ford to be pretty good too. With me even with Oil changes they give me the SVT rental. Last time they gave me an expedition for the day. They have good so far, they just wouldnt sell me a car (I wanted the RED SVT Focus they had for years, but they wanted too much for it.) My dad actually bought a '67 Stang from Northtown new back in the day and still has the receipt for it, $3,300 for the straight six & no A/C.
