But if you "need" to here is the only source to use Click me for the info. Swap Rear Drums - ZX3_2NV - 01-10-2006 Concidering im aiming for 260 Horses this summer a full upgrade is needed your front brake kit is pretty $$$ and the rear needs more parts what else would i need with yor rear kit Swap Rear Drums - Flofocus - 01-10-2006 Check this thread out.... http://www.focuscanada.net/forum/index.php?showtopic=14901 Swap Rear Drums - Festive_Zombie - 01-10-2006 What is your requirement for the Big brake update. What will you do with your 260HP. I recommend better tires before upgrading your brakes. This will make a huge difference. More then upgrading brakes. If you track then I say go for it. But if you stay on the street there is absolutly no need. You are better of with new good quality rotor, not slotted nor drilled. They reduce braking surface on smaller disc. Get a balanced compound pad, too aggressive and it will chew your rotors. Remember big brakes = big wheels which equal added unsprung weight which screws with you suspension. But light wheels and a great tire is what make your car stop. Not brakes (i'm not saying to take your brakes off ;) ) If you race then go for it, but make sure you do your homework. The SVT brakes are a good start find a wrecked SVT (easier said then done) and salvage parts from it. That way its a true bolt on. You will need the front knuckles of the SVT or need to get yours machined, can be pricey. Todd at TCEperformance makes a good kit for front. But for the couple 1000$ it will cost you you are better of putting that money somewhere else. Cheers Swap Rear Drums - ZX3TUNING - 01-10-2006 TCE is the best big brake kit on the market and has the best price! I suggest sourcing some SVT knuckles and getting the TCE SVT kit along with SVT rears. that should be all you need. the only thing i would suggest is get a set of Hawk pads over the Wilwood pads that TCE supplies, you will notice much better stopping. http://www.svtsalvage.com should be able to help you with the knuckles and the rears. youj will want the entire rear trailing arms if possible. and just swap the whole arm onto your car for the fastest install! this is what we run on our silver focus and no matter what we have tried, brake fade just simply does not exsist! Swap Rear Drums - 02ztsian - 01-11-2006 SVT brake swap from Ford http://www.fordracingparts.com/parts/part_...rtKeyField=7798 Swap Rear Drums - ZX3_2NV - 01-11-2006 thanks 02ztsian that look like something i can seriously use and Festive_Zombie the cars my daily driver that a weekend drager and i already have 17's and a set of yokohama tires Swap Rear Drums - Drivesthebeast - 01-16-2006 I agree that rims and good rubber will help determine brake effectiveness bigtime. I only want to replace my stock brakes with new parts for now (likely one of those upgrade kits from zx3tuning). I don't want a big brake kit, because I need to be able to drive the car all year for now, and big rims in big petawawa region snowdrifts are not the best idea/combo.... |
